Editorial Standards

How we choose, research, write and correct what we publish.

Sourcing

We build articles on primary sources wherever they exist: data providers' published reports, Federal Reserve statements, U.S. Treasury and agency data, and named research. Each article lists its sources, with links, at the end. When we rely on another news organization's reporting, we credit and link to it.

We do not publish unattributed statistics. If we cannot trace a figure to a source, we leave it out.

News, analysis and playbooks

News articles report what happened. Articles that also interpret the facts are labeled Analysis. Playbooks are practical guides and say so at the top. Nothing we publish is financial, legal, tax or investment advice.

Tools

Our calculators follow the rules on How we build our tools.

Use of AI

Flipper News uses AI tools to monitor sources, research, write and publish articles and to build calculators. Facts, figures and quotes are checked against the original sources, and calculator results are checked against hand calculations, before publication. Articles are published without a person reviewing them first; we recheck recent articles against their sources and correct errors promptly. Bylines read "Flipper News Staff" because each piece is the product of that process.

Independence from advertisers and affiliates

Editorial decisions are not for sale. Sponsored or partner content, if we publish any, will be labeled as such at the top and kept separate from news, playbooks and tools. Links we are paid for are marked as sponsored.

Corrections

We correct errors promptly and transparently. See our corrections policy.
